What you will see

  • Hachikenya-hama. Osaka's river port since the Edo period, where passenger boats once left for Kyoto.
  • Osaka Castle. A glimpse of the castle tower, rebuilt in 1931 with donations from the citizens of Osaka.
  • The Silver Bridge. The 1930 steel arch of Sakuranomiya Bridge, lit up beside its modern twin.
  • The Japan Mint. Home of every yen coin and of Osaka's most famous cherry blossom walk.
  • Kema Lock. Our turning point, where the Okawa meets the Yodo River.
  • Tenjin Bridge and Nakanoshima. The setting of the thousand-year-old Tenjin Festival, a short distance from the site of the Dojima Rice Exchange, regarded as the world's first organized futures market.
